This Privacy Policy explains how Moon App (“we”, “our”, or “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our iOS application.
By using Moon App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue using the App.
Moon App integrates with Apple HealthKit to read sleep analysis, heart rate, and related health metrics from your Apple Watch or iPhone.
Raw health data from HealthKit are stored only on your device. However, strictly to enable the ‘Social Challenges’ feature, your aggregated sleep metrics (such as sleep duration and sleep quality score) are uploaded to our secure servers (Firebase Firestore) so you can participate in challenges with friends.
We never share or sell this data to third parties, and it is never used for advertising, marketing, or resale.
You can revoke HealthKit access at any time via Apple Health → Sources → Moon.
Your alarms, detailed daily sleep analytics, and app preferences are stored locally on your device using Apple’s Core Data framework.
To support the ‘Social Challenges’ feature, your user profile data (such as display name, avatar, and challenge history) and aggregated sleep scores are securely stored in the cloud using Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore.
We use Firebase Analytics to understand how Moon App is used and to make it work better for you.
The information collected helps us improve stability, performance, and future features.
This information does not include your personal health data.
All analytics data are anonymous and aggregated.
Account Data Collection
To use the ‘Social Challenges’ feature, you must create an account. For this, we collect necessary account information (such as Apple ID identifiers, usernames, and display names) via Firebase Authentication. We do not use this information for any purpose other than providing the social features of the App.
Your Consent: Before participating in Social Challenges for the first time, you will be asked to explicitly consent to creating a cloud profile and sharing your aggregated sleep metrics. By tapping “Accept and Continue” on the setup screen, you agree that your basic account information (such as display name and username) and your aggregated daily sleep scores (sleep duration and quality) will be securely uploaded to our Firebase Firestore database to enable the leaderboard and challenge functionality. Your detailed, raw health data is never uploaded. You can withdraw your consent and remove this data at any time by deleting your account within the App.
Moon App includes an AI-powered sleep assistant called Moon AI.
Your Consent: Before using Moon AI for the first time, you will be asked to consent to data sharing. By accepting, you agree that your questions and sleep metrics may be processed by our AI service.
When you use Moon AI:
You can decline to use Moon AI at any time. Declining does not affect your use of other Moon App features.
The App uses Firebase Storage only to deliver sleep sounds and melodies.
These files are hosted on secure servers provided by Google and are used exclusively for playback inside the App.
We use the collected data to:

We follow Apple’s data protection principles and never sell, trade, or transfer user data.
Moon App is not intended for children under 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Each provider complies with global data protection standards including GDPR and CCPA.
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically.
When updated, the “Effective Date” will change.
Continued use of the App after such updates means you accept the new version.
